Park Manager (Superintendent)

Develops an organizational vision and provides overall direction and leadership in strategic and long range planning for the park's operation. Represents the park in frequent and consistent communications with members of Congress, appropriate Federal, state, regional and local officials, public and private organizations, the general public, and landowners abutting the park on significant, sometimes controversial, politically sensitive issues to obtain support for conservation practices and park objectives and to develop and implement solutions to problems and conflicts. Actively manages partner relationships in which the partner has an operational role in presenting aspects of the park to the public. Develop recommendations and documents for the planning, programming, and distribution of a large multimillion dollar budget. Oversees a significant business management program, ensuring that potential and existing leases, fee programs, cooperating associations, and the granting of numerous special use permits annually, including cost recovery, are appropriately administered. Actively promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion and assures that all supervisory and human resource management and labor management relations responsibilities for the park are carried out in accordance with Federal laws and policies and collective bargaining agreements, including the recruitment, selection, training, counseling, and evaluation of permanent, temporary, and seasonal employees. Oversees significant natural and cultural resource program, conducted at the landscape level involving millions of visitors annually. Manages complex and diverse resource/visitor protection programs, education and interpretation, and facilities management. You must meet the following by the closing date of this announcement:
Possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to; managing, or performing substantial specialized work in a park or similar park and land unit program, in natural and/or cultural resource management, concessions and land management, recreation management, interpretation, law enforcement involving the protection of natural and/or cultural resources, all aspects of administration, construction and maintenance, or other related work; programming, planning and tracking multiple budgets and financial management programs; managing a human resources program in addition to maintaining a comprehensive EEO and diversity program; and fostering effective partnerships. Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
