Administrative Support Assistant (OA)

Distributes and processes mail. Maintains logs of checks received. Monitors and reports on pool vehicle utilization. Coordinates travel, prepares authorizations and vouchers. Purchases park office supplies and maintains supply inventory. Troubleshoots office equipment and calls for repairs. Maintains office files and records. Prepares reports and permits. Serves as timekeeper and prepares PARs. Property inventory coordinator:
tracks and reports on property in the park. Enters data into a variety of systems. Budget Work:
Tracks obligations, expenditures, and accounts receivables, and reconciles in-house records with accounting reports. Coordinates and prepares reports on Park housing. Processes special park and commercial use applications. Guides special park and commercial uses through the review, compliance, and approval process. Assists the Chief Ranger with the special park uses program. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one or all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
administrative support services to enable efficient operation of a business or program, tracking and reconciling purchases using a government credit card, preparing and following up on purchase orders and contracts, writing and sending official correspondence and orienting new employees, prepare travel documentation, and timekeeping and payroll administration. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least four years of education above high school, (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours) or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. -OR- Combination Education and
Experience:
Experience 6 months of experience (50% of the requirement) and two years above high school (50% of the requirement). Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants must be able to type 40 words per minute. Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test. Volunteer
Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
