Looking for a direct care position in mental health? Brook Lane Health Services is seeking a Mental Health Associate to assist with patient care in a child & adolescent partial hospitalization setting. Brook Lane is a leading provider of mental health treatment and education in the region.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Supervises students during program and provides skills development groups
- Helps patients with activities of daily living (physical care, eating, etc.)
- Manages disruptive behaviors
- Performs crisis intervention with patients exhibiting behavior problems using therapeutic methods which could include physical restraint
- Performs the initial administrative piece of entering patient data into the electronic health record of all new patients
- Performs discharge planning assistance to therapist and nurse
- Transport patients to / from program
Qualifications:
- Minimum of High school degree. AA or Bachelor's Degree in human services or education related field preferred
- Previous experience with school aged children and autism population preferred
- Physical ability to perform behavior management duties and therapeutic restraints following training course
- Ability to deal with patient aggression and intense behaviors
- Ability to assist patients with activities of daily living
- Intermediate technology skills
