How does the Pet Resource Center Counselor help achieve this mission? A Pet Resource Center Counselor's primary focus is protecting and supporting the human-animal bond.
A Resource Center Counselor knows the resources that are available in the shelter and throughout the community and problem solves to keep pets and families together.
In addition, this position accepts stray and owner surrendered animals, enters detailed information about each incoming animal into the shelter management software, and helps reunite lost animals with their families.
What qualifications does a candidate for Pet Resource Counselor need to be considered? You must have prior experience in customer service, outreach, or advocacy.
You must have basic animal handling skills and basic understanding of feline and canine body language.
You must have be compassionate, open-minded, and demonstrate an inclusive attitude when interacting with people who may be different from you.
You must have a passion to save lives and see animals placed in their forever homes! Two other important facts to know:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
